Spring Term in Year 3

Welcome back to Year 3!

We are delighted to continue working with both children and parents as we move into the spring term of your child’s Key Stage 2 learning journey! After a fantastic start to Year 3 in the autumn term, we are excited to build on the progress made and support the children as they grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.

This term, our topic will beOceans and Rivers, and we’re looking forward to exploring this fascinating theme through creative and engaging activities across the curriculum.

In English, we will be applying the grammar skills developed last term to produce clear, accurate, and engaging writing. The children will continue to build confidence in sentence structure and use of conjunctions as they write for different purposes.

In Maths, we will continue to strengthen multiplication skills, focusing on the 8s, 3s, and 6s, while regularly revisiting the 4s to ensure secure understanding. Lessons will remain active and practical, helping children to develop fluency and confidence.

PE days remain the same:

  • Elm Class – Wednesday
  • Ash Class – Friday
Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on these days.

We are thrilled to embark on this exciting spring term together and can’t wait to see all the amazing progress and creativity from our Year 3 learners!

We have attached a list of the Year 3 recommended reads for you to have a look at.
You might want to read a few of these at home!
