Transition

When Joining Our Nursery

Transitioning to nursery is an exciting time for both children and their families. To help make this process as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we encourage families to create an ‘All About Me Box’ during the Summer or Christmas holidays, depending on when your child will be starting with us.

This special box should be a decorated shoe box filled with photographs, objects, and artefacts that are meaningful to your child. These items can include family pictures, favourite toys, or anything that represents your child’s interests and personality. By sharing these treasures, we can better understand your child and support their settling-in process. It’s a wonderful way for us to learn about their likes and dislikes, which helps us create a nurturing environment tailored to their needs.

At the end of the first half term, we will return the ‘All About Me Boxes’ to you, so you can enjoy looking back at the memories shared. To assist you further, please visit the ‘Parents’ tab on our website, where you can find a delightful video of Mrs Adams sharing her own ‘All About Me Box’, providing inspiration for your creation.

Once your child has been enrolled, we will provide parents and carers with additional information to ensure a seamless transition. We are here to support you every step of the way!

Please see the 'Starting school' page under the 'Parents' tab for information about the transition from Nursery to Reception.
