Cedar Class: What a fantastic term we have had in Year 5! We have completed some outstanding learning and it has been a real pleasure continuing to work with the children.

In maths, we have learnt all about number and become confident in adding and subtracting using the column method. We have built on the skills learnt in previous years and utilised these with increasing number sizes.

In our English lessons, we have learnt all about the legend of Beowulf and applied a range of grammatical learning. We have learnt all about embedded relative clauses and how to use parenthesis to add extra information.

We have continued with our Viking topic as a stimulus for our learning across the curriculum. We have enjoyed learning about their houses, where they settled and how far they travelled from their home countries.

In Art, we have also learnt all about a local artist, Alfred Wallis. We have enjoyed studying his work and will use it as a stimulus for our own.
