Welcome to Cedar Class from Mr Lockett.
In Year 5, through our busy curriculum, we aim to incorporate all of our Sandy Hill STARS, which we believe are vital to effective learning. We are self-motivated to achieve, we think our way through tricky challenges and scenarios, we are aspirational, we achieve challenges through resilience and we support one another.
Year 5 have enjoyed a some fantastic learning opportunities across the curriculum. We have completed an exciting Geography project aimed at answering our big Geography question - Why are mountains so important? The children have leant all about how 'fold' mountains are created, compared different mountain ranges across the world and learnt what it is like farming in the Cambrian Mountains.
We have enjoyed learning how to write contrasting setting descriptions and non-chronological reports in English, all about fractions in Mathematics and not forgetting our topic - The Ancient Greeks.
Rescntly, we have also really enjoyed working with the Cornish Pirates and Poltair School within our PE lessons.
