We remain open as a HUB school for keyworker childcare provision!

13.03.2020 Super Scientists

We continued to enjoy British Science Week with an experiment using UV light and SPF sun cream. We drew a picture on our hands using the special pens and then applied either SPF sun cream or moisturiser and then looked at the picture using the UV lights. We found that the sun cream added a protective layer to our skin.
We continued our Science learning and linked it to our topic on pets and animals. We sorted animals into a Venn diagram and into 2 groups using characteristics of the animals.
In Maths we started to learn about 2D shapes. We went on a shape walk around school and completed an investigation using shapes.
On Wednesday we had an assembly all about Science careers. We then learnt about animal related Science careers and talked about our hopes for the future.
On Thursday we took part in a Shakespeare workshop where we learnt a rhyme and actions. In the afternoon we performed A Midsummer Nights Dream with the rest of the school and enjoyed being able to show what we had learnt.
This week in PSHE we looked at things that are good for us and things that are not. Look at our concentration and our cutting skills.
