04.02.20 We love science!
Through our scientific activities this week we have been encouraging children to ask effective questions. Asking questions is an intellectual skill.
- Questions stem from observations
- Questions are presented in a range of forms
- Curiosity leads to thinking
We have supported the children to ask questions during our scientific activities this week. The activities that we conducted were; raisins in lemonade, mento's in diet coke and making a lava lamp from oil water and glitter. All of the activities stimulated high quality talk. The children were making predictions, asking questions and extending vocabulary with discussing what they could see happening. The children showed curiosity through their exploration within the activities.
We have been working hard during Phonics this week- the sounds of the week are; ear, air, ure and er.
What words can you think of containing these sounds?
