From tiny acorns to mighty oak trees (3.11.17)

Welcome back! This week we have enjoyed learning about the lifecycle of the oak tree. In English we wrote about the four stages that the oak tree passes through in order to develop into a full mature oak tree.
We watched a BBC Science Clips video about the inhabitants of the oak tree and discussed the importance of these trees in our woodlands.
In Maths we have been using our knowledge of number bonds to 10 and 20 to add two numbers. We drew our own number lines to show the 'jumps' we had completed to calculate the sum.
E.g. 8 + 6 = 14
            /\
           2 4

This is because 8 + 2 = 10 and then there are 4 left to add from the 6 which totals 14.
