Beauty and the Beast (2.2.18)

This week we were treated to a magical performance of Beauty and the Beast by M&M Productions. We watched attentively  as the story was brought to life for us within school and had great fun participating with some familiar songs and the obligatory 'Oh no it isn't!'
In English this week we read Zoe by Julia Donaldson. This book was chosen as we have been learning about dragons linked to our castles topic. We learned all about what an aspirational learner Zog was, facing new challenges in each school year and trying his best to earn a gold star. We acted the story out in groups and discussed our favorutite words and phrases.
In Maths we began to use our knowledge of multiplication and arrays to help us to solve single step word problems.
With GoActive this week we participated in a lesson using cross bows. We linked this to our castles topic imagining we were archers firing from the arrow loops at enemy invaders.
With the Plymouth Argyl coach this week we focused on travelling in dance. We travelled in different ways across the hall and then thought about the different ways animals moved, trying to recreate their movements with parts of our bodies.
