30.11.18 Run,run as fast as we can.

The children have really enjoyed their independent learning this week. We looked at the story of The Gingerbread Man together and then the children recreated different ways through their play of making their own gingerbread men and family.
We had gingerbread playdough men and babies. We had gingerbread families created by drawing around stencils. The children made gingerbread men out of brown bags and there were even gingerbread tea parties everywhere.
We took our learning outside and ran like the gingerbread man. The children pretended to be the characters in the story and recreated their speech phrases like "stop I want to eat you", and " run, run as fast as you can you cant catch me I'm the gingerbread man",
While outside this week we took the opportunity to jump in the puddles too, it was so much fun. The children splashed and kicked and sang the song it's raining its pouring. The children also discovered our tray had filled up with rain water so we measured how many cups of rainfall water had fallen. This took ages but the children really wanted to count out each cup and get the end total.

Is it nearly time to start preparations for the big day, nursery think so, this week we have been busy talking about Xmas trees and the children have chatted to each other about putting up their Xmas trees at home. This led us onto making and creating our own trees, stars and Xmas cards with the children voting for a Xmas tree on the front.

Thankyou to everyone who has brought in their costume, please can all costumes be in school by this Friday.
