25.02.19 Dancing back to school!
Welcome back! We hope you all had a super half term and managed to get out and enjoy some of the lovely sunshine we had! The children had lots of lovely things to share and all definitely enjoyed the chance to relax and spend time with their fantastic families and are now refreshed and ready to enjoy even more amazing and exciting learning opportunities!
Our first English topic back is fairy tales and what better way to start than to read, enjoy and learn the story of the Three Little Pigs! After reading the story we sequenced the pictures to recall the story and then we retold the story using actions that we had developed as a class! We had great fun acting out the story and we can’t wait to develop the story!
In maths we have been building on our knowledge of number place value and we have been making, reading and writing numbers up to 20 as both numerals and words.
In science we have continued our fairy tale theme by trying to help the three bears to choose new materials for the curtain for their new home so that noisy Goldilocks can’t peep in! We really enjoyed talking about the properties of materials and putting all our new vocabulary to good use as we described each material that we tested! We particularly enjoyed putting each material through a series of tough tests and then finally making our own choices on the best material for the job!
We have also enjoyed practising our dancing ready for our School Danceathon in aid of the Cornwall air ambulance! We have particularly enjoyed baby shark!
