(20.9.19) RNLI and National Maritime Museum

This week we have enjoyed exploring different aspects of our Autumn topic with the help of a visit from the RNLI and a trip to the National Maritime Museum.
Mark and Jason from the RNLI taught us about sea safety and explained a little about the history of the RNLI.
On Wednesday we went to the Maritime Museum and complete a ‘Wreck and Rescue’ workshop. We learned a lot about boats and historical figures thanks to Seth and Sophie.
Learning all about Henry Trengrouse the inventor of the ‘Rocket’ lifesaving apparatus.
Testing out the ‘Rocket’ device for sea rescue.
Making our sail boats.
Racing our sail boats on the boating lake.
