15.12.17 Tis the season to be jolly, fa, la,la,la,la,la
The Nursery children this week have been very busy preparing for Christmas. They have independently made Rudolph the red nose reindeer crafts, Chilly the Snowman crafts and Father Christmas face masks and that's just at the creative table.
The children have filled their stockings with cut out pictures of toys they would like Father Christmas to bring. Some of the children have even thought about other family members and have placed a toy on for them too. We have shared clips of the different items people would like for Xmas and we have had a circle time session about Christmas being different for others to how we celebrate from other people in different countries.
Then there's the cooking-each day this week-Thankyou to our wonderful ladies who made it possible for all the children to have a go at Christmas cooking from Christmas puff pies, cheese stars, gingerbread men and chocolate reindeers. All children have loved these activities and have really enjoyed taking their cooking home. Our star baker was Brynley who made 5 reindeers and 4 gingerbread men. Well done to all the children for listening to instructions throughout our activities and then having a try all by themselves, amazing results and such a sense of achievement. The children took their confidence and new experiences to the playdough table and continued their rolling skills and created Christmas trees, gingerbread men and mince pies.
Next week in Nursery we will be having our Christmas party - hopefully if Billy the elf brings our Christmas music back we will be having party games and yummy Christmas food. I think there is even mention of a Brussels sprout pass the parcel game he, he.
Dont forget your Xmas party clothes on Monday and your Christmas jumpers on Wednesday.
Please can I remind parents to put gloves and hats in their child's bags as we go outside in all weathers and now it's getting colder you're children are complaining of cold hands they need gloves to keep them warm. Hats are amazing to keep whole body feeling warm, all these must be named please.
We finish for Christmas holidays this Wednesday at 2pm and return on Friday the 5th January.
