14.12.18 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The children have been exploring Christmas in a variety of ways. They have worked hard in finding out why we celebrate Christmas and what kinds of ways we all enjoy this celebration time. We have explored different foods, different beliefs, different ways of putting up a tree and what to place on top of the tree. We have explored elves and their Christmas schedules. Our favourite this week was lots of different stories about Xmas and we created some songs to go with our characters in our stories.
The children have enjoyed preparing for our Xmas fair and made lots of different items including huge marshmallow candy canes dipped in chocolate then rolled in sprinkles. The children have made Rudolph cakes and melted snowman biscuits and making a selection of Christmas nibbles for our singalong.
The children have been busy rehearsing for their singalong performance and what a singalong they made it. They were all so excited to see their families in the nursery and quickly sat down to start. Mary and Joseph looked after Jesus well and laid him to rest in his manager while we continued our journey through Christmas.
Thankyou so much for all the lovely costumes and all your support throughout this term.
All children can wear Christmas clothing and party clothes next week, don't forget your nibbles on Monday.
