08.12.17 An Elf came to visit!
We received some very exciting post on Monday from Father Christmas telling us that he has sent an Elf to spend December with us. We cannot wait to see what the naughty elf gets up to!
On Tuesday the Elf had a picture of some elf eggs and an invitation to find them. We searched the classroom, outside area and playground. We finally found them in the field, hiding by the shed. We took them back to the classroom and placed them in water, The next day the eggs had started to crack open and we used magnifying glasses to investigate them. We drew pictures of the eggs and maps of our hunt.
The Elf has also encouraged us to make footprint mice and print our own wrapping paper.
We opened some more Advent boxes this week that had special Christmas items inside such as a Nativity set and 'The Jolly Christmas Postman' book.
On Wednesday we opened a very special Advent box that had knitted Nativity characters inside. Mrs Cushen's mum knitted the characters and they are incredible!
We have enjoyed showing off our writing skills this week by writing Christmas cards to our family and friends. We are so good at using our phonics skills now.
- The last day of term is Wednesday 20th December and we finish at 2pm on this day. On that day we have a non-uniform day where the children are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers. It is also Christmas lunch day and this needs to be booked on Parent Pay. There is no jacket potato or school packed lunch option today.
- We return to school on Thursday 4th January at 8.30am.
