08.02.19 Robin Hood, Internet Safety & Time to Talk!

This week in our topic work we celebrated internet safety day. We enjoyed an assembly which involved discussing what an amazing tool the internet is but also how important it is that we keep safe whilst using it. We enjoyed a story which explored different scenarios that might happen when using the internet and we worked together to think of how we could respond to them. We then took part in various activities in our own classes to follow this up.

In our class we learnt all about Smartie the penguin who showed us what he does to keep safe when using his tablet or computer at home. He even taught us a song to remember how to keep safe...

In English we have been looking at the story of Robin Hood after the wonderful performance from m & m last week. We began by acting out the story ourselves and then we moved onto comparing characters from the story. We really enjoyed describing the characters and then voting on which character we thought should be the sheriff...

In maths we have been sorting and reasoning about shapes...

In RE we have continued doing our work on Hinduism and this week we learnt all about where Hindu people pray. We got to know a little boy called Ranji who told us all about his Shrine at home and what it is made up of.  We also learnt about how Hindus worship and what each part of the Shrine symbolises. Finally we had a go at making our own Hindu shrine on the interactive whiteboard.
