07.06.19 On our journey.

Well what a first week back. On returning we discovered that our cocoons had started to open and we were so delighted to watch the first 3 butterflies emerge from their sleep and spread their transformation wide. The children gasped as the butterflies opened their wings to reveal their beautiful colours. Then we observed their progress all week and today we released them into the garden.
The children were fascinated that the butterflies didn’t weigh a lot and while the children held them on their fingers they really observed every detail. The butterflies flew onto our new big hotel and then explored our garden.
We have started to flutter our own wings and have begun our transitional work into big school. We were very lucky and Mrs Edyvean showed us how to subitize with our numbers. We are building up a great connection with Mrs Evans too and showed Mrs Evans our activities. Her favourite was our mark making and letter sound work. We have ants and snakes and tennis songs while marking our sounds on our white boards.
The children have been really interested in books this week too and have explored another story to our favourite ladybird character and yes those burglar’s are still around. The children have choose a story about a bus next week so we are off on the road and around the town. I wonder where the bus will stop.
