04.03.19 Pancakes, St.Piran & WBD!
What a fantastic, action packed week we have had! We have celebrated so many occasions and learnt so much along the way!
In RE we learnt about Pancake Day aka Shrove Tuesday. We found out about why, how and when it is celebrated before designing and making our own pancakes to enjoy!
In topic, we also celebrated St.Pirans Day. We enjoyed finding out about our patron saint and then about ways people remember him. We finished of by cratering our own flags and pasties! Our dinner time pasties were yummy too!
In maths we have been using a number square to help us with our place value. We played number square splat and we made numbers using what we had learnt about tens and ones.
To top the week off we have also celebrated world book day! We enjoyed reading our class book ‘The day the crayons quit!’ And we completed lots of lovely activities like a crayon colour bar chart to really immerse ourselves in the story! The children all looked amazing in their costumes so a big thank you to you all for all the effort you put into making them look so amazing! To finish off the day we enjoyed a trip to our new library to listen to a story and to read some books ourselves. It really was a fantastic way to end a super day!
