02.11.17 Pumpkins and Puppies!
Welcome back after half term. We hope you all had a lovely relaxing week off.
The children have been so excited about Hallowe'en that we decided that we needed to have some pumpkins in the classroom. We used them to tap pins and shapes onto to decorate the outside of the pumpkins and then we carved the pumpkins and scooped out the insides. We were fascinated by the seeds and flesh and enjoyed describing how it smelt.
We are also excited about Guy Fawkes night and made our own 2D shape rockets with our names spelled on them with alphabet stickers. They have made a lovely display.
Mrs Bawden brought in her 10 week old Cocker Spaniel puppy today to meet both Reception classes. She talked to the children about how to look after a puppy and all of the things a puppy needs. The children then asked some very clever questions such as where does she sleep and what does she eat. Maple slept on Mrs Bawden's lap throughout the whole talk and did not seem at all worried that there were so many children looking at her! She was very tired when she got home though!
