01.02.19 Cycling, shape & more...

Last week we really enjoyed a great visit from Nick at Sustrans who reminded us how important it is to exercise and what better way to do this than by travelling to school by bike or scooter. It really encouraged lots of us to bring our bikes to school and those who did even got the opportunity to have their bikes checked over by Nick and his team. As a result we have had lots of people using their bikes and scooters to get to school this week, so a big thank you to everyone involved!
This week has seen us begin a new topic in maths - shape. We really enjoyed some active maths in the Hall, by playing some shape hunting games. We have also played guess the shape using shape properties and used shape in some great problem solving activities. We are looking forward to finding out lots more as we start to look at 3d shape.
We also welcomed m & m theatre productions back again, this time to perform Robin Hood. It was a fantastic production as usual and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. We look forward to using it as a focus for our English next week.
