Reception

This week we have been estimating objects in a large sweet jar.  We enjoyed learning about estimation and the children were close with their estimations, well done everyone.  We also have worked on 1 more and 1 less than 10.  We used a number line to help us find the answer and later in the week we used number fans to show the teacher our answers.

We have been working on our sentence writing in literacy, focusing on consistent letter size and orientation of letters.  We have been learning about when to use capital letters and making sure we don't use the in appropriately.

We painted pictures of Bess the police dog for our new display for the classroom.


In the outside area we investigated pouring water along the guttering at different speeds and with different containers.
