Nursery

We started our week in the nursery by getting really messy!  We explored the texture of dry porridge oats and described them as being "soft and fluffy".  After a little while we were able to pour some water into our oats and then we investigated how the mixture changed and what it felt like.  We were using some brilliant describing words like sticky, gooey and squelchy.  We even smelt it but that was much trickier to describe!  We loved getting messy and told our parents "All about the gooey goopy porridge!"

We have also been doing some speaking and listening.  We have been bringing in things from home such as favourite toys or interesting things we have found.  We then take it in turns to tell the other children about it and we even get to pick children that are sitting nicely to ask us questions.  

This is really good for all of us as we get to practice listening to each other and also working out what makes a good question.  If your child has something they wish to share please feel free to let them bring it and hand it to a member of staff to avoid it getting lost.
