Nursery

For DT week the children in the Nursery have been exploring sounds and musical instruments.  We began the week by looking at different instruments and exploring the sounds that they can make.
   
Next we made a plan of some of our ideas and things we thought might be important for instruments, like a filling of rice or pasta or beans for a shaker and a skin for the top of a drum.

We used junk to make our own instruments and filled them with rice and lentils to make them rattle and shake.  Don't they look brilliant?


The last thing we did was to play our instruments.  We had a lovely band and even sang songs like 'Twinkle twinkle' as we played.
