It's that time of year again.. European Language Day.. For this each class have chosen a Country to learn about during the day. Here are the countries:

Nursery: UK
Infants: Spain
Year 3: Cornwall
Year 4: France
Year 5: Greece
Year 6: Italy

It will be a fancy dress day, with children dressing up in the the colours of the flag of the chosen country.

We are asking for a voluntary contribution of a 50p.

Sandy Hill opened their new football season on Tuesday with the local district five a side tournament, held at Charlestown football club on Tuesday afternoon. We were drawn in a tough group with five other local schools. The first game was against Charlestown, which we won 2-0, with goals from Jack H and Wade. Next up were Bishop Bronescombe, this time winning 4-1. Our next game saw us beat Mount Charles 3-1 and then finally Pondu 6-0. This put us in the semi-final against St Mewan, after extra time we finally won 3-1. The final was a very tight game against St Stephens. We were 1-0 down at half time, but came back to score three great goals from Wade, Jack H and Archie. The final score was Sandy Hill 3 St Stephens 1.

A great result and an excellent way to start the new season. The team consisted of Jayden, Scott, Wade, Ethan, Jack H and Archie.

Thanks to all the parents who came to watch and support, especially Mr Mitchell, who helped with the transport.

Mr Weale
