On Monday, we celebrated another fantastic ‘Languages Day’, with each class taking part in activities both inside and outside the classrooms, experiencing the diversity of languages and cultures throughout Europe and dressed in the colours of their flags.
Here are just some of the fun activities:
The Nursery children looked at photos of ‘Soggy Bear’ when he visited France during the holidays and also enjoyed delicious brioches. The Infants had a mouth-watering feast of French food in the hall, accompanied by accordion music; they all looked very colourful!.
Year 3 sampled some Cornish treats and learned some Cornish language, whilst Year 4 played took part in a Boules Tournament – well done to Oliver Chapman who won an amazing 17 games! Year 5 loved their Greek salad and other delicacies whilst Year 6 prepared and ate Pizza Margheritas in the colours of the Italian flag.
The day ended with a Celebration Assembly when we sang songs containing ‘Hello’ in six languages and ended the day with the ‘Cornish Anthem’. Thanks to all the Staff, children and parents for making this day such a success.
