Miss Carter's Blog

Here we are – the end of another year. 2011-2012 has been quite a year, lots of highs and some sad lows as we’ve said goodbye to some dear friends.

The last term has flown by with school trips, assessments, sports days and an OFSTED thrown in for good measure!

We have had some very special times this term with the superb Year 6. They were great on a very wet & muddy school camp and a little emotional at their leavers disco (thank you mums for organising this!) and a wonderful day was also had at Flambards! They have been an exceptional Year 6 with a set of super supportive families. Thank you and good luck at secondary schools!

For the rest of us – September is relaxing 6 weeks away. Enjoy your break and look forward to working with you next year – results online/reports/extra clubs etc – well a lot planned for you and your children!!

Thank you for all the support shown this year.
See you in September.
What a super way to finish a Half term! The whole school are currently enjoying a 'street party' in the playground to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee: complete with crowns, flags and music from this era!
This rounds up a super day of Jubilee activities and red, white and blue costumes!
Please look at the class blogs for details and photographs.
Once again - you have excelled with the support you have given as the effort gone into the crowns and imaginative food is amazing!!! Thank you.
It's been quite a half term with Y6 SATs, assessment week, Ofsted to name but a few! I think the children (and staff) will be please to have a week to recharge their batteries before we start all over again in the summer term! The next few weeks will be jam packed with exciting opprtunities: sports days, trips, camp etc.
So enjoy your rest everyone and we'll see you in a week ready to have a great (and hardworking) finish to the year.

Happy holidays.

I just walked outside to deliver a message and saw a strange thing - sunshine!!
It is great to see children playing on the field, learning tennis skills and playing on the adventure playground. Have a quick look at the vid below- it's nice to see the Academy enjoying the start of the summer term.
Year 6 SAT week begins next week so our top juniors are working very hard and revising for their tests. Luckily there's lots of exciting things for them to be looking forward to afterwards.

We hope you all had a lovely Bank-Holiday weekend. smiley
Let's all enjoy the sunshine.

That last term seemed to go particularly fast- and here we are in the final term of another academic year already!

We hope you all had a good Easter break - it's good to see the children back and as keen as ever. There's alot going on this term in the academy both academically and with lots of other fun events. The Year 6's are working very hard to prepare for their SAT week - although the promise of school camp is keeping them motivated! The rest of the school will also have their final assessment week this term and you will receive a written report on your child. There will also be an Open Afternoon so that you can come and share your child's work and achievements with them.

Hopefully the weather will improve so that we can start to use the school field to prepare for the athletic events that are planned - with some extra fun Olympic games thrown in! We also have a PE week lined up (trainers at the ready!!) so watch this space.

Behind the scenes, asever, we are working hard to make sure that your children are receiving the best education that we can offer. Our staff are busy working with teachers from other schools and academies to improve their methods and ideas. Tomorrow we are hosting a training session for 4 schools which all helps us to stay the very best that we can be.
