Year 5 have been extremely busy this week continuing with their amazing myths. At the beginning of the week they started to plan which has lead onto writing an opening, a middle and an ending. They have worked so hard on this topic, here are some examples so far:
There was a time when fun and happiness did not exist, when the world was a cold, dark place. The Gods did not know how to change that but one did, Zeus the kings of Gods.
Flora (the candy floss) would always try to make fun but nothing would work. The fair stayed boring for many years. One day Flora went to Zeus for it all to change.
Thousands of year ago, before the sun was in the sky, there was a poor farm boy named Manae. He lived in spark, a small village on Mt Ember. Mt Ember was a gigantic volcanic Island with towering cliffs and a huge, golden statue.
Manae loved watching the waves smash into the cliffs like a battering ram hitting a castle wall. Every full moon, people had to pay blood to the statue to warn off Throne, the evil beast of the sea.
A long time ago before the world was very old there lived a weird creature called Jett, he lived in an ancient garden within bushes and grass. Jett has an elephant head, a human body and human feet/shoes. Bilbo has a kangaroo body, jelly fish legs and human trainers on his feet. Pheobe is a human like character. The back garden is very quiet because Jett loves to live in a quiet places and does not like to be seen.
Year 5 have started zumba again as part of their P.E., they remembered the routines really well. Here they are really enjoying themselves:

In art this week the children painted their mythical creatures. They are looking really good.
