Year 3

What an exciting week! As we are drawing to an end of our Ancient Egypt topic we have been making the most of it.
In Literacy we have written our own Adventure and Mystery stories inspired by Ancient Egypt. They include spooky haunted pyramids, talking mummies, moving sphinx, hoards of scarab beetles and nail biting moments. Mrs Green is thrilled with them because we have used a great range of openers, connectives and lots of WOW words!
We then turned our stories into our very own book! In DT we have made a pop up book for our story with 3D pyramids, moving planes, hidden doors and pop out mummies. We wrote our stories in them in our best handwriting and then went and read them to the children in Reception. They were a hit!
Here is each of us with our favourite page of our book:

However, the biggest excitement of the week was........ OUR TRIP!
We went to The Royal Cornwall Museum for an Ancient Egyptian workshop. It was fantastic, we learnt so much and we even got to see a real life mummy! During our time at the museum we took part in a re-enactment of the judgement of the dead ceremony, solved clues and handled objects found in a tomb and explored the Egyptian Gallery with a focus on mummification.
