Year 3
Our new topic this half term is weather!
![]()
In Geography this week we shared all the different places we have been on holiday, what the weather was like and the activities we did there. Then we started investigating weather around the world in
Tropical, Polar, Arid, Mediterranean and Temperate climates.
We have been recording the weather in
Nuuk, Greenland
Malaga, Spain
The Amazon Basin, Brazil
Cairo, Egypt
and
St Austell
Can you remember what climate these places have?
This is our weather chart. As well as finding out the temperature in the other countries we have used a thermometer, a rain gage and our observations throughout the day to record the weather in St Austell.
Next week we will be presenting this data in graphs and charts in Maths.
In Maths this week we have been measuring lengths as accurately as possible.
Mrs Green had some parcels to send to the different countries we are studying and she asked us to find out which parcel was going to be travelling the furthest. We used rulers and a map to measure to the nearest cm, half cm and some of us even measured to the nearest mm!
